Comparison Review

Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Ford Escape than in the Toyota 4Runner. The Ford Escape offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the Toyota 4Runner, making it a little more comfortable for the driver and front passenger.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Ford Escape as you will with the Toyota 4Runner, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Clearly, the Ford Escape is a better financial choice over the Toyota 4Runner, when considering MSRP.

Dimensions
Since the Ford Escape is much slimmer than the Toyota 4Runner, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Ford Escape, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Toyota 4Runner.

Handling
The Ford Escape has a smaller turning radius than the Toyota 4Runner, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Toyota 4Runner is clearly the choice over the Ford Escape for pulling heavy loads. When it comes to horsepower, the Ford Escape has a lot less horsepower than the Toyota 4Runner.

Powertrain
The Ford Escape has much lower torque than the Toyota 4Runner, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Ford Escape and the Toyota 4Runner. The Ford Escape has significantly less cargo capacity than the Toyota 4Runner.
