Comparison Review

Comfort
The GMC Terrain offers rear passengers about the same room to stretch out as the Subaru Outback, with comparable head- and legroom. The Subaru Outback offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the GMC Terrain, offering the driver and front passenger a bit more room and comfort.

Convenience
With the Subaru Outback, you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the GMC Terrain, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the GMC Terrain will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Subaru Outback.

Dimensions
Since the GMC Terrain is much slimmer than the Subaru Outback, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the GMC Terrain, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Subaru Outback.

Handling
The GMC Terrain has a larger turning radius than the Subaru Outback, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The GMC Terrain has a little less horsepower than the Subaru Outback.

Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the GMC Terrain does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the Subaru Outback.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the GMC Terrain and the Subaru Outback. The GMC Terrain has less cargo space than the Subaru Outback, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.
