Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the GMC Terrain than in the MINI Countryman.
As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the GMC Terrain and the MINI Countryman.
Convenience
The MINI Countryman requires fewer stops at the gas station than the GMC Terrain, making it more convenient to drive.
Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the GMC Terrain will have less of an impact on your bank account than the MINI Countryman.
Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Destination Charge for the GMC Terrain is much higher than that for the MINI Countryman.
Dimensions
The GMC Terrain is about the same width as the MINI Countryman.
If you go with the GMC Terrain, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the MINI Countryman.
Handling
The GMC Terrain has a larger turning radius than the MINI Countryman, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.
Performance
The GMC Terrain has a little less horsepower than the MINI Countryman.
Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the GMC Terrain does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the MINI Countryman.
Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the GMC Terrain and the MINI Countryman.
With the GMC Terrain, you'll be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the MINI Countryman.
Warranty
The basic warranty of the GMC Terrain is not as nearly as extensive as that of the MINI Countryman.
