Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater head- and legroom, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the RAM 1500 than in the GMC Canyon. The GMC Canyon will be a favorite with tall drivers and their passengers, since it has much greater head- and legroom than the RAM 1500.

Convenience
With the RAM 1500 you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the GMC Canyon, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the GMC Canyon will have less of an impact on your bank account than the RAM 1500.

Dimensions
Since the GMC Canyon is much slimmer than the RAM 1500, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the GMC Canyon, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the RAM 1500.

Performance
With the RAM 1500, you'll be able to pull heavier loads than the GMC Canyon due to its slightly better towing capacity. When it comes to horsepower, the GMC Canyon is clearly outclassed by the RAM 1500.

Powertrain
With its lower torque engine, the GMC Canyon doesn't do as good a job transmitting horsepower to its wheels as the RAM 1500.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit the same number of people in the GMC Canyon as you will the RAM 1500. The RAM 1500 has a lot more cargo capacity for hauling lumber or gardening supplies than the GMC Canyon.
