Comparison Review

Comfort
The GMC Terrain offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Subaru Ascent. The Subaru Ascent will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the GMC Terrain.

Convenience
The Subaru Ascent requires fewer stops at the gas station than the GMC Terrain, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Clearly, the GMC Terrain is a better financial choice over the Subaru Ascent, when considering MSRP.

Dimensions
Since the GMC Terrain is much slimmer than the Subaru Ascent, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the GMC Terrain, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Subaru Ascent.

Handling
The GMC Terrain has the same turning radius as the Subaru Ascent, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the GMC Terrain has a lot less horsepower than the Subaru Ascent.

Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the GMC Terrain does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the Subaru Ascent.

Utility
The GMC Terrain has less seating than the Subaru Ascent, making the Subaru Ascent the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The GMC Terrain has less cargo space than the Subaru Ascent, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.
