Comparison Review

Comfort
The Land Rover Defender offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Toyota RAV4. The Toyota RAV4 offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the Land Rover Defender, offering the driver and front passenger a bit more room and comfort.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Land Rover Defender will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Toyota RAV4, which has a much lower MSRP.

Dimensions
Since the Land Rover Defender is much wider than the Toyota RAV4, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Land Rover Defender, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Toyota RAV4.

Handling
The Land Rover Defender has a significantly larger turning radius than the Toyota RAV4, making it much more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When considering towing capacity, the Land Rover Defender is clearly the choice over the Toyota RAV4 for pulling heavy loads. When it comes to horsepower, the Land Rover Defender greatly out-muscles the Toyota RAV4.

Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the Land Rover Defender does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the Toyota RAV4.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Land Rover Defender and the Toyota RAV4. The Land Rover Defender has less cargo space than the Toyota RAV4, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.
