Comfort
Due to its greater head- and legroom, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the RAM 1500 than in the Ford F-150.
The Ford F-150 will be a favorite with tall drivers and their passengers, since it has much greater head- and legroom than the RAM 1500.
Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Ford F-150 as you will with the RAM 1500, as they can travel a similar number of miles on a tank of gas.
Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Ford F-150 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the RAM 1500.
Dimensions
Since the Ford F-150 is much slimmer than the RAM 1500, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot.
The Ford F-150 is slightly shorter than the RAM 1500, which may make it easier to park.
Handling
The Ford F-150 has a similar turning radius to the RAM 1500, so both should maneuver just as easily in and out of tight spots.
Performance
With the RAM 1500, you'll be able to pull heavier loads than the Ford F-150 due to its slightly better towing capacity.
When it comes to horsepower, the Ford F-150 is clearly outclassed by the RAM 1500.
Powertrain
With its lower torque engine, the Ford F-150 doesn't do as good a job transmitting horsepower to its wheels as the RAM 1500.
Utility
The Ford F-150 has less seating than the RAM 1500, making the RAM 1500 the better choice if you often have passengers.
You'll be able to fit about the same amount of lumber or gardening supplies into the bed of the Ford F-150 as you will with the RAM 1500.
