Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Lincoln Aviator than in the Volvo XC90.
The Lincoln Aviator will be popular with taller drivers and passengers in the front seat, due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Volvo XC90.
Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Lincoln Aviator as you will with the Volvo XC90, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.
Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Lincoln Aviator will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volvo XC90.
Dimensions
Since the Lincoln Aviator is much wider than the Volvo XC90, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging.
For some people, bigger is better. If that's the case for you, then you'll be happier with the Lincoln Aviator, which is slightly longer than the Volvo XC90.
Performance
If you've got something you need to pull, the Lincoln Aviator will do just as well as the Volvo XC90, since they have about the same towing capacity.
When it comes to horsepower, the Lincoln Aviator greatly out-muscles the Volvo XC90.
Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the Lincoln Aviator does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the Volvo XC90.
Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Lincoln Aviator and the Volvo XC90.
The Lincoln Aviator has a roomier cargo area for putting your bags or other items than the Volvo XC90.
