Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Volkswagen Atlas than in the Volvo XC60, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Volkswagen Atlas will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the Volvo XC60.

Convenience
The Volvo XC60 requires fewer stops at the gas station than the Volkswagen Atlas, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Volvo XC60 is somewhat more expensive than the Volkswagen Atlas. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Volvo XC60 and the Volkswagen Atlas have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Volvo XC60 is much slimmer than the Volkswagen Atlas, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Volvo XC60, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Volkswagen Atlas.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the Volvo XC60 transmits power to its wheels a bit more effectively than the Volkswagen Atlas.

Handling
The Volvo XC60 has the same turning radius as the Volkswagen Atlas, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Volkswagen Atlas is clearly the choice over the Volvo XC60 for pulling heavy loads. The Volvo XC60 has a little more horsepower than the Volkswagen Atlas.

Utility
The Volvo XC60 has less seating than the Volkswagen Atlas, making the Volkswagen Atlas the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers.

Warranty
The Volvo XC60 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volkswagen Atlas.
