Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Land Rover Defender than the Acura RLX, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Acura RLX and the Land Rover Defender in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Acura RLX as you will with the Land Rover Defender, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Acura RLX will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Land Rover Defender. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Acura RLX carries a much lower Destination Charge than the Land Rover Defender.

Dimensions
Since the Acura RLX is much slimmer than the Land Rover Defender, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. When looking at overall length, the Acura RLX takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Land Rover Defender.

Drivetrain
The Acura RLX has much less torque than the Land Rover Defender, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Handling
The Acura RLX has a smaller turning radius than the Land Rover Defender, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Acura RLX is significantly less powerful than the Land Rover Defender. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
The Acura RLX has less seating than the Land Rover Defender, making the Land Rover Defender the better choice if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Acura RLX has significantly less cargo room than the Land Rover Defender, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Acura RLX comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Land Rover Defender.
