2012 Honda Fit Overview
The 2012 Honda Fit might be the smallest car in Honda’s lineup, but don’t let this four-door hatchback’s small stature fool you – it comes with plenty of features and passenger space, especially for a subcompact.
For the new model year, there aren’t any sweeping changes to the Fit but a few notable improvements have been made. The Fit’s interior gains new cupholders and more sound-proofing for a quieter ride, while Sport models get even more aggressive styling inside and out.
Under the hood is the familiar 117-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder which takes regular fuel and is mated to a standard five-speed manual or an optional five-speed automatic. The Fit’s fuel economy numbers lag behind a few other cars in this class, like the Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, and Ford Fiesta, but are still respectable topping out at 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission.
Where the Fit really excels is inside, offering over 20 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, which expands to 57.3 cubic feet with the 60/40 split rear seat folded. This gives the Fit more cargo space than even the Accord and other comparable sedans. Standard features on the Fit include air conditioning, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, and a USB/auxiliary input jacks. If you’re looking to spruce up the Fit even more, a navigation system with Bluetooth® connectivity and a leather wrapped steering wheel are optional.
Even though the 2012 Fit is on the smaller side of cars on the road, you can feel confident in its safety features, it is after all an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Antilock brakes, six airbags, and an electronic stability system with traction control all come standard.
The 2012 Honda Fit might be small on the outside, but its big where it counts with great style, plenty of utility, and a price tag that won't break the bank.

We looked at a Kia Soul and decided to purchase this instead. I could not be happier, A lot of interior room, plenty of power, and so far great fuel economy. I would definitely recomend this car to anyone. Has plenty of room for two carseats for grandkids in back and plenty of leg room for adults in back seat.

Not too sure

I have owned my Fit for 4 months and have 4000 Mi. It rides fine and, like most new cars, it's dependable. No problems. It's also easy to get in and out. For seniors, that's an important issue.
My only negative issue is gas mileage. The main reason I purchased this car is to get better gas mileage. It's a small car and it's a Honda. Thought I would get more than 26.3 MPG. I am an older guy and an easy driver. No fast starts or stops. I drive on the highway mostly but do some city driving. Have tried several brands of gas. Best I can do is 26.6. Prior, I owned a 6 year old large Chrysler. I averaged 22 MPG consistantly. Thought I would do much better. Not too happy with this car.
