2012 Chrysler Town and Country Overview
Fresh off of a 2011 redesign, the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country returns still bearing one of the nicest interiors to be found in this segment as well as a few innovative cargo/seating solutions that make it one of the more attractive people carriers out there.
Under the hood lies a version of Chrysler’s Pentastar V-6, which outputs 283-horsepower and 260 pounds-feet of torque, more than enough power to motivate the Town & Country. The only available transmission is a six-speed automatic with an auto-manual mode. Fuel economy numbers check in at 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
When it comes to practicality, the 2012 Town & Country delivers in spades. It features power sliding doors and a power liftgate as standard equipment, and they can both be operated by remote so even if you don’t have any hands free you can still open the doors and liftgate. And then there are those Stow ‘N Go second row seats, also standard (traditional bucket seats are optional), which can fold into the floor at a moment’s notice if you need to transition from carrying people to cargo, and vice versa. The third-row also folds into the floor at the rear, giving the Town & Country up to 143.8 cubic feet of cargo room with both rows folded down. Even better, there are no cumbersome seats to store anymore.
The Town & Country is closely related to the Dodge Grand Caravan, but has been constructed to be the more luxurious of the two which becomes very apparent the moment you enter one. This latest iteration of the Town & Country has an interior that rivals that of luxury cars, with plenty of soft touch materials and leather upholstery now standard on all trims. For 2012, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system has also been made standard, which further cements the Town & Country’s status as a leader when it comes to standard equipment.
All trims of the Town & Country are treated to amenities like tri-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, a media center with 6.5-inch touch-screen display and rearview camera, USB port, and Bluetooth® connectivity. Further options include a second rear-seat DVD screen for the third-row, navigation system, power moonroof, heated front/rear seats, and Uconnect Web, which can turn your Town & Country into a Wi-Fi hotspot for internet access.
The 2012 Town & Country also features a long list of standard safety features, like the aforementioned rearview camera for safe back, electronic stability system, traction control, six airbags, and active front head restraints. Options include a blind spot warning system and rear parking sensors.
If you’re looking for a minivan that’s also a little luxurious, then the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country should be your choice. Throw in the fact that it offers plenty of flexible storage and convenience and it’s a home run.

Received a 1999 Pontiac Montana from a deceased aunt. Quickly got spolied with it. You can do more in a minivan than a car! I chose the Chrysler Town and Country to replace it because of the image of the brand and Stow N Go. No other company offers this! Quality is top notch, too! I do wish for more leg and knee room in the driver's seat. Love all the standard features (power everything, leather interior, satelite radio, heated mirrors, back up camera, auto climate control, etc.). It makes Chrysler a great value too. Love my Town and Country! You will too.

Purchased my new T&C in March. While on our first country drive, through hilly terrain, it became apparent this vehicle behaved in a manner I have yet to get used to. Around 45 mph, the transmission continually shifted back and forth between gears. It was almost difficult to sustain a specific speed. I heave read other reviews with the same problem. It is annoying and has generated feelings of regret in regard to this purchase. Have also experienced "surging" while backing up my driveway.
