2011 Audi TTS

The 2011 Audi TTS is the high-performance version of the Audi TT, successfully combining turbocharged engine performance with the refinement and fine interior craftsmanship that Audi is known for.

Similar to the TT, the 2011 TTS is also available as a four-seat coupe or two-seat roadster with a power-folding fabric top.  It features a 265-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 258 pounds-feet or torque, an upgrade of 57-horsepower over the normal TT.  Both the coupe and roadster come standard with Audi’s quattro® all-wheel drive system which provides optimum traction and handling response in even the worst of conditions.  Each TTS is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters and launch control software which helps the TTS to achieve optimal acceleration from a standstill.  Fuel economy is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, economy numbers which dwarf those from the competing Nissan 370Z and BMW Z4.

For 2011, the TTS receives several exterior visual refreshes in addition to the new bumpers and radiator found on the TT model.  The TTS has unique bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a larger front intake, a new rear diffuser, and quad exhaust pipes out the back.  These touches give the TTS a more aggressive stance giving hint to the powerful engine and sport tuned suspension. 18-inch five spoke rims are standard, with 19-inch wheels optional.

The 2011 TTS also comes with a large complement of standard luxury interior features, such as leather and Alcantara® wrapped front sport seats, leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel, aluminum accents, and Bluetooth® connectivity.  New in the interior for 2011 are brushed aluminum trim pieces spread around the cabin which give the TTS a premium feel.  A step up to the Prestige trim brings with it a navigation system, heated front seats, a BOSE® sound system, and an interior LED lighting package.  The navigation system comes with a 6.25-inch LCD screen, two memory card slots for MP3 music and the option of a six-CD changer or iPod® interface.  The TTs can also boast a surprising amount of cargo room, with 13.1 cubic feet of trunk space compared to only 6.4 cubic feet for the BMW Z4, and 6.9 cubic feet on the Nissan 370Z.

Safety features found in the TTS include front dual threshold airbags, head and chest side airbags, and knee airbags.  An electronic stability program and antilock brakes help keep the TTS on the road and under control during emergency maneuvers.

With outstanding fuel economy for a sports car, a luxurious interior, ample cargo space, and fine workmanship, the 2011 Audi TTS is a winner in every category.
